KANG'S TAEKWONDO ACADEMY BLOG SPOT: STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Each month we will select a new student from the Belt Testing to be honored and featured as Student of the Month. Congratulations to the following students who have been chosen as the top students for February 2011!

STUDENT OF THE MONTH - WALNUT CREEK - SANDOR NEMETH

I was born on Dec, 13, 1996 in Berkeley, California. I have a half brother and half sister who live in Hungary who are 31 and 34. I also have a little sister who is 20 months, her name is Gabriella who lives with my dad. My parents were divorced when I was 2 years old and I lived with my mother. My father was negative and cut me down in every aspect and mentally abused me my entire life.

I have lived in Walnut Creek since I was 2 years old. I started going to elementary at Indian Valley and now attend Walnut Creek Intermediate and am currently in the 8th grade. I will be graduating from 8th grade this June!

Sandor loves baseball and has been playing baseball since he was 6 years old, but last year he got tired of playing it, so he had to choose another sport of activity to go into. My parents had me choose from a list of what to do and I choose to try Taekwondo. My Uncle Mike knew of a place that he liked that taught Taekwondo that he was watching the classes for a while and was close and convenient to our house. As of March 1, 2010 he decided to try to 2 weeks free. So now a year has gone by of hard work and dedication and he is now a green advanced belt and very proud and humble at the same time. Sandor just had his best mile he ever had at WCI this last week. His mile time was only 6 minutes and 38 seconds his record time from around a year ago he was around the 9 to 10 minutes to run a mile. Sandor also has lost weight and gained a lot of muscle working out with Taekwondo 5 days a week. Talking about just the physical with his benefits of Taekwondo, but the mental growth and the positive attitude and the confidence has grown tremendous since I have taken Taekwondo.

I do still love baseball, swimming, playing video games, movies, singing, drama, collecting trains and of course girls…. My career goals is either be an Actor, Train Driver, or a Taekwondo Teacher. Currently, I live in Walnut Creek with my mother, Suzanne and my step dad Steve along with my cousin, Jeff. I am happy to say I have a great example of a father in Steve that I never had with my real father.

I want to say that I look up to and really enjoy the teaching of Mr. Harrison as my instructor and mentor in life in Taekwondo. I love Kangs Taekwondo and the example they give and teach. Master Kang is also a great mentor to me in the advice he gives to me everytime he comes or teaches in the classes.

I am so proud to be chosen Student of the Month this month.
