Community Service at the Contra Costa Food Bank

Students and families of Kang's Taekwondo Academy (Walnut Creek and Brentwood) volunteered at the Contra Costa Food Bank in Concord, CA, to give back to the community on Saturday, February 23, 2013.

Below, is more information on the Food Bank:

Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano

The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano has been serving the community for over 35 years. The Food Bank serves approximately 149,000 hungry people in need every month directly at community sites and through a network of 180 charitable agencies, and distributed nearly 16 million pounds last year! The Food Bank works to reduce food waste, feed hungry people, and raise public awareness of issues related to food and hunger. The work could not get done without the help of the hundreds of volunteers that donate their time to coordinate food drives, sort and pack the food, and help distribute it to their hungry neighbors. To learn more about the Food Bank and the work we do or to find out how you can help, please browse our website, call them at 855-309-FOOD (3663).
The Food Bank received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator for effective and fiscally responsible management of our organization. The Food Bank is a certified member of both Feeding America and the California Association of Food Banks.
A Big Thank You from Master Johnny Kang and Family!  Everyone did a wonderful job and it truly felt good to work together for the benefit of those less fortunate...  We are always doing fundraisers, charity works and community service to help our fellow man.  Let us know how you can help.   Taekwon!
