JAPAN EARTHQUAKE / TSUNAMI RELIEF
Dear Students, Families and Friends,
As you may know the country, people and families of Japan are in serious pain and suffering and many lives will never be the same. As martial artists and humanitarians, it is our duty to help those that are less fortunate than us.
We are in planning stages of several fundraisers.
The first one will be an ice cream party after our belt graduation ceremony on Saturday, April 9th at our Walnut Creek dojang which starts at 4:30pm. Here is an email from the Bonifacio family in Brentwood that thought of this wonderful idea.
Master Kang,
My family wanted to help out the needy people in Japan during the April 9th Graduation in Walnut Creek. We were thinking of selling some ice cream scoops to all the students and family members with all proceeds going to a relief fund. The cost will be very minimal and we can easily setup right after the graduation ceremony. I think all of your students know, but we wanted to reinforce that we need to reach out to the world and help as much as we can ..Let us know if this is possible...Many thanks....Taekwon!

Here was my response to them:
Dear Bonifacio Family,
I have to tell you that your family is out of this world! I love your idea and I say we go for it. If you can get the ice cream from Costco? that would be awesome. I have been extremely swamped with all the dojangs but have been working on setting up a Martial Art Olympic event for the dojangs so that we can raise funds to help make a difference for the unfortunate families in Japan. I hope we get lots of support from our families such as yourselves! I am so proud to be associated with such a wonderful family like yours and your family is an inspiration to us all. See you soon!
P.S. I will make an announcement on all of our social media links. Thanks again!
Taekwon,
Sabumnim
The second fundraiser will be a Martial Art Olympic, where students will compete in a variety of events such as the highest jump front kick. More details will come after we finish the plans, date, venue and logistics. I am praying for a great turnout, the strength to make it a great event and hope that all of our students, families and friends participate in this worthy cause...
Sincerely,
Master Kang and all the Instructors and Staff at Kang's Taekwondo Academy
